Sara Ray
Micro Shelter Site Lead
Sara joined the United Way in June 2024 as the Micro Shelter Site Lead. She brings a rich background in Ministry, social services, and community relations, with six years of experience serving in various communities across Spokane, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; Fairfield, California; and Reno, Nevada, working to end homelessness and food insecurity.
Sara grew up in the nonprofit world and has been volunteering since a very young age. Having moved 18 times throughout her life, she thrives in new environments and cultures. She is passionate about implementing equality and inclusion in every space, affirming and celebrating people and their unique qualities.
When not working, Sara enjoys spending time with family and her dog, Blossom. She prioritizes creativity through crocheting, painting, and creating floral arrangements. Sara looks forward to working with the United Way in the ongoing efforts to end homelessness in the Redding area and empower the Micro Shelter residents.
