Angel Yang

Program Specialist - Grants

Angel was born and raised in Butte County. Since high school, her interests revolved around community services, which connected her to a career in health science. She worked closely with the community to bridge health equity gaps, especially towards Mental Health Services. Through her experiences, she had the opportunity to work closely with the homeless population, low-income families, and Southeast Asian population. Her passion for connecting with her community as a peer advocate allowed her to open discussions, learn from participants, provide best practices, and inform community professionals.

She stated, “My experiences working with individuals and local organizations taught me the importance of “service above self.” The beauty of making a difference brought me back to my community to link cultural stigmas with services. And I hope that bridging the gaps of equity for our underserved population will also allow me to embrace my truths, heal my traumas, and seek peace of mind.”
