Community Impact Grants
United Way of Northern California announced its 2022 Community Impact Grants, which invest $50,000 in organizations to support wildfire mitigation and drought preparedness within its nine-county service area.
Grantees received assistance for various disaster resilience measures, including drought-tolerant indigenous plant training for native youth, water tank installations in extreme fire-risk areas with depleted water sources, and purchasing equipment for volunteer fire departments. Funded organizations included fire safe councils, volunteer fire departments, tribal organizations, and others involved in similar work.
The ten grantees are: Konkau Association Corporation, Willows Volunteer Fire Department, Shasta Mutual Aid, RISE (Resources for Indian Student Education, Inc.), Manton Fire Safe Council, Orland Volunteer Fire Department, Yankee Hill Fire Safe Council, Wolfpack Clubhouse, Shasta County Fire Safe Council, and Lakehead Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.

North State Equity Fund
The North State Equity Fund (NSEF) is a collaboration between United Way of Northern California and the North Valley Community Foundation. The fund supports efforts to promote racial justice, social equity, and deepen collaborations between organizations or emerging groups doing this important work in the North State. This fund is available to organizations or groups based in one or more of these nine counties: Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, or Trinity.
NSEF 2023 Spring Grant
Application deadline: March 15, 2023, 4:30 PM
NSEF is now accepting Letters of Interest. If you or someone else you know is working to promote racial justice, social equity, we encourage you to apply. Interested organizations should create an account and submit their letter of interest. Selected organizations will be invited for a Zoom interview and notified about grant status prior to the announcement of awards on April 17, 2023.
