Senior Program Specialist - Equity

Kalmogho is a first-generation American immigrant from Burkina Faso and a mother of two young ladies. Kalmogho is a seasoned social change leader with over 20 years of experience working with marginalized communities. She is passionate about equity, inclusion, and social justice and is committed to creating a more just and equitable society.

Before joining UWNC in December 2021, she worked for seven years at Shasta College as a student services program coordinator for EOPS/CARE, the Office of Student Equity and Inclusion, and TRIO.

Myriam also founded Reciproka, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote cultural understanding, respect, and reciprocity between people, cultures, and nations. Through educational, environmental, and cultural regeneration and reciprocity. www.reciproka.org

Through Reciproka, she successfully launched a crowdfunding platform called "Let's Fund Africa," which funds social entrepreneurs and builds coalitions with local organizations. She graduated from New College of California, studying Activism and Social Change, Community Sustainable Development, and Green MBA.

She believes that:

  • Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background.

  • Everyone has a place at the table and should be included in decision-making processes.

  • Everyone has the right to live a just and equitable life.

Her favorite thing is volunteering with her daughters and seeing the world through their eyes.
